Sibling Rivalry

Watercolor on Canvas, Framed - 30” x 40”

The Echinopsis candicans is the star of this painting. Also referred to as the Argentinian Giant, it only gets about three feet tall at maturity and has sprawling limbs that grow just as wide. Large flowers (6-8 inches in size) are mostly white but the translucent petals catch the sunlight and give it a pinkish purplish glow. The blooms appear at night, sometimes lasting into the early morning or even longer on cool days.
