Triple Threat

Watercolor on cradled board - 36” x 36”

No desert bloom has as dramatic a contrast as the prickly pear cactus. Each spring seems to be more abundant than the previous in terms of their flowers.  This particular cactus had a “triplet” in three different stages of blooming which meant that the pad would make a showy display for much longer than those that bloom all at once.
