As the sun sets to the west, the Grand Canyon becomes awash in a golden glow, making long shadows and creating visual textures that can be quite mesmerizing to visitors. In addition, the Colorado River lazily meanders through in this scene giving the impression of a serene waterway. Remember though - this is the same body of water that created this vast expanse of canyon such a long time ago!
