On The Lookout

Watercolor on canvas - 12” x 24”

Gambel quail are a favorite among Arizonans and visitors alike.  The males are often seen perched atop a cactus or wall surveying the area to warn of possible danger.  This guy took his perch on top of a cholla cactus skeleton – a wonderfully architectural remnant of one of the most prickly of our desert plants.
