This past fall a group of fellow artists went to the Desert Botanical Garden to take in the butterfly pavilion. We came up with the idea to each paint a piece from our outing. We decided on a common size but everything else was up to interpretation. This was my take on it featuring a Gulf Fritillary enjoying a prickly pear bloom.
