Cardinals are a favorite among bird enthusiasts. Even people that aren’t avid bird watchers seem to gravitate to this red delight in the wild. Seven of our 50 states even have it as their state bird! I have always been drawn to them because my parents used to tell me they were visitors from heaven. And now they visit me when I go for my morning hikes in the desert… Such a treat!
