Part of my Serenity Collection. Agave are one of my favorite desert plants to paint. The architectural shapes and the way the shadows and light play on the leaves makes for unique visual interest. This diptych was a challenge to myself to move in a more contemporary graphic direction by leaving a significant amount of white space for the eye to rest. The symmetry of the two pieces is juxtaposed by there being a shadow side and a light side in the piece. It was among the first few pieces in my new collection.
