Outside my Kitchen window is a beautiful old mesquite tree that has become a bird sanctuary (because I feed them). One afternoon this guy came by, no doubt looking for his next meal. He stayed on that branch for almost 3 hours while I took photos of him from many different angles – both inside and outside – all the while cautiously keeping his eyes on me. I figured after all that modeling, the least I could do was to paint his portrait!
